100th Deviation yay! I don't know how I reached 100 deviations but I wanted to make a nice terraspace scene for big ol' #100.
Anyways, for this piece I wanted to make a barren feeling planet and I believe that it feels pretty barren. I made up this technique in Terragen 2 where if you apply craters and put a soft tan color on them, then it kinda looks like sand dunes. I may have put a few more craters then necessary but I wasn't going to re-render this for another hour and a half. Other then that you got a nice planet with what appears to be a healthy atmosphere in there and off behind the mountain to the left seems to be some busy outpost with landing docks, most likely for scientific research or whatnot. I haven't decided yet.
But yeah that's pretty much it. The landscape took an hour and a half to render in Terragen 2, and took around another hour and a half to put it all together in Photoshop CS6. Looking forward to the next 100 deviations!
That's some tall outposts.
Grats on 100th.
I tried to imply that the outposts were off behind the mountain to the left where the ships are but maybe having mountain-top outposts is more interesting. Hmm....
