Blue Skies by BS4711 Blue Skies by BS4711
So I didn't do a space scene in a while because of being busy with college work and laziness in general but not anymore! I'm not sure if I went overboard for this new scene but I think it looks nice. The cloud and mountain render took 8 damn hours. I tried making everything super high quality on it so that's probably why. It also took about 2 more hours to throw everything together in Photoshop. So yeah, hope you like it!

Zoom in or download for the best quality!

Beautiful! I can imagine being a pilot feels like this, leaving the overcast behind you to finally see the sun!

Thanks! When making the render of the clouds I tried to make it feel like you were looking out a plane above the clouds.

Very Nice WorkReach for the stars ...   I agree with ontels, it be nice if we we closer to another planet although in my city you can barely see stars lol.   I loved to move out into open land to have a better view of our skies.

Tell me about it, I love it everytime I can go out in the country and actually see the Milky Way and such things. I live right in an urban central area and I can hardly see anything more than the moon and Jupiter.

Thanks! And I know that feeling. I love seeing the pictures of long exposures of the Milky Way and then when I look up at the night sky and only see a handful of stars, I get sad. Hopefully in the near future i'll move somewhere where a short drive outside the city will give you an awesome view of the night sky.

And hopefully we don't pollute that planet so we can actually enjoy the clear skies lol.  There is a telescope on top of the Andes mountains where I saw pictures of the views there on the science channel lol.  It is magnificent.  You see everything sooo clearly the dust from the Milky Way, everything.  I couldn't even imagine a place on Earth you can see that sky so clear and of course a good place to put a telescope lol.  A few hundred years ago you could probably see that where we live now.

Yeah unfortunately i'm in the worst spot for anything involving the night sky. New York City is like 30-40 miles away from me and is the center of light pollution. It's gotta be the coolest thing in the world to be in a secluded area and just look up and see The Milky Way and shooting stars every few seconds.

There is what they call darksky parks here in the US one here upstate Pa check them out.  There cannot be anything built within so many miles of the park so there is absolutely no light pollution anywhere for miles.  You go camping there and don't even need a telescope although it says scientist go there with gear.  They are all over the US.  Think there is also one in upstate NY.

This makes me wish that our planet was positioned that close to another solar body! D:

It would be beautiful yes, but I fear we would have to leave such images to fantasy, because in our real universe, those planets would be torn apart by tidal gravity.

Not if one was much smaller than the other.

It would be pretty awesome to look up everyday and see something like this. But hey, at least we got the moon to look at!
